Start with what you own
Reuse what fits. Buy what is missing. Add convenience only for a reason.
This worksheet records what finishing your chosen home setup costs from here, not the total cost of bringing home or caring for a puppy. Keep veterinary care, food, ongoing supplies, travel and other animal-specific costs in a separate budget. These exclusions are not a reason to delay anything your dog needs.
No prices, availability, tax or delivery charges have been verified. All entry spaces are intentionally blank. Unknown is not zero. This is a write-in worksheet, not an automatic calculator; print on A4 paper at 100% scale with browser headers and footers off.
1 · Room and owned-item inventory
Include only items you have already chosen for your setup. None of these prompts is a universal requirement.
| Room / spot | What goes here | Already own? | Measured fit? | Reuse / buy / later |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entry / hallway | Wet walking gear | |||
| Entry / hallway | Leash and everyday gear | |||
| Kitchen | Bowls and mat area | |||
| Kitchen / pantry | Food container and shelf | |||
| Living space | Crate / resting area, if selected | |||
| Living space | Pen / gate, in use and stored | |||
| Cupboard / closet | Spares and small accessories | |||
| Utility / laundry | Textiles awaiting a wash | |||
| Anywhere | Existing cleaning supplies | |||

Before you buy
Reuse: measure the item and its spot, open nearby doors and drawers, and check space to lift it out. Record owned items here; list new preparation or hardware costs as separate purchases. Adhesive hardware can damage finishes. Do not improvise animal equipment.
Buy missing: check the exact assembled dimensions, included parts, installation and return terms. Room fit does not establish animal fit. Check cleaning labels against your surfaces and storage plan.
Add later: name the problem the purchase solves. A higher price does not establish durability, health benefits or better containment. Check washable parts and laundry fit; this sheet does not choose feeding height.
Itemize the purchases
2 · Buy rows only enter Subtotal A
Mark each row buy, owned, deferred, or not needed. Leave money fields blank for non-buy rows. Assign every buy row exactly one order ID, treating each in-store purchase as its own order. Split separately priced items into separate rows; copy this page if needed and use unique row IDs.
Use positive whole-number quantities and nonnegative USD amounts to cents. Enter zero only when confirmed. Exact model, size, color, seller and quote evidence go on pages 3–6 using the same row ID.

If a buy row lacks price or quantity, keep the final delivered total blank. Owned and deferred rows are not missing quotes. Carry new required parts and reuse preparation costs as buy rows, not as hidden extras.
Quote records: pages 3–6. Quote-checking guidance: page 8.

Reconcile each order
3 · Charges once per order
Enter shipping, checkout tax after applicable discounts, mandatory fees and only an extra confirmed discount not already in unit prices. Discounts are positive amounts to subtract. Gift cards and other payment methods are not discounts. An unknown charge stays blank; confirmed none is zero.
Order 1
| Shipping | Tax | Mandatory fees | Extra discount | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Order 2
| Shipping | Tax | Mandatory fees | Extra discount | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Order 3
| Shipping | Tax | Mandatory fees | Extra discount | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Adjustment = Shipping + Tax + Fees − Extra discount. An adjustment may be negative; each delivered order total must be nonnegative. Reconcile each order against checkout. Never force a mismatch to balance. Copy the order section if needed; count each buy row once.
Check the budget boundary
4 · Budget and completeness check
| Line | Amount / count |
|---|---|
| Subtotal A — buy items (USD) | |
| Subtotal B — sum of order adjustments (USD) | |
| Buy rows missing a price or quantity (count) | |
| Used orders with any unknown charge or discount (count) | |
| Estimated delivered total — A + B (USD) | |
| Nonnegative home-setup budget cap (USD) | |
| Remaining balance — Cap − Delivered total (USD) |
Leave delivered total and remaining balance blank until both unknown counts are zero and every buy row belongs to exactly one reconciled order. Any known-only sum must be labeled “partial quoted costs — incomplete.” A known delivered total may be recorded without a cap; balance still stays blank.
A negative balance means this plan exceeds your cap. Review optional convenience items, compare suitable quotes or deliberately revise the cap. Do not postpone necessary animal equipment just to balance this sheet.
Quote each exact variant
Use the product-detail listing for the exact model, size and color, in USD and shipping to your US address. A product family or a manufacturer page for a different market is not a price quote. Check the selected dropdown against the photo.
Review checkout without placing an order: confirm seller, address, final charges and delivery estimate. Recheck prices before ordering. An accessory pictured beside an item may not be included.
No hypothetical prices are printed here. Every amount you enter should come from your own dated quote or chosen budget cap.
Keep the boundaries visible

Record prior spending separately. Do not subtract anticipated refunds from this plan. Track confirmed refunds separately so prior spending is not counted twice.

Final checkout checklist
- Every buy row has an exact variant, source URL, quote date and one order ID.
- Quantities and extended costs multiply correctly. Charges and extra discounts appear once per order; discounts are not subtracted twice.
- Both unknown counts are zero. Every order reconciles with checkout before the delivered total is entered.
- Seller, delivery address, delivery estimate and return terms are checked. Personalized spelling and contact details are correct.
- Each item has a measured spot and space to use, open and remove it. Check installation instructions, surfaces and loads. Use suitable tape for mock-ups and remove them when finished or obstructive.
- Animal fit, health, nutrition, travel and veterinary decisions were made elsewhere with appropriate advice, not from this sheet.
Save your dated quotes and completed pages together. This total covers only the selected future home-setup purchases you recorded, not all puppy costs.
